I female friend of mine is having a Birthday and I would like to get her a non-romantic gift, suggestions?

I dated this lady over ten years ago and it didn’t work out but we’ve remained good friends. She has been in relationships since so I didn’t feel it was appropriate to send her a gift. Now is single once again and I would like to send her a gift for her birthday but I want it to be appropriate and non-romantic. I need help.

A gift card to one her favorite stores or restaurants is always a safe gift.

Send her a gift card, that way she can pick out whatever she wants and is less hassle on you.

First of all, it will be more difficult considering you ignored her birthday while she was in a relationship. It will likely seem odd to her. Other than that anything besides the typical romantic gifts should be fine. Just avoid flowers and things of that nature(I would consider jewelry to be in this category). Maybe don’t send a card either, it sounds like a little thing, but it can be considered a much bigger deal.

Well houseware is always nice, but that only works if you know something they need, like something broke and you could buy her a new one. Or some sort of bath salts or bath oil balls are always a nice gift and not romantic unless you put flowers and hearts with them haha
think of everything that she thinks is nice (music, movies, is she into any sports, what does she do for fun) and get her something that relates to that.

Base it on her tastes. If she’s a movie fan, a DVD is nice. A book if she’s a reader. Basically, same as you would do for a guy friend; something you know the person will like. Not flowers or jewelry. Gift certificates can work, if it’s for some place you know she will appreciate.

I wouldn’t send jewlery although jewlery is always nice it might send the wrong idea. U can never go wrong with a gift card. Maybe a good book? I once had a male friend give me a Really nice journal/diary and really nice pen. Our guy friends called it corney but I really appreciated it. Still have it to this day. Women love to relax so another good one might be a relax cd like with ocean sounds or thunderstorms and maybe a lavender filled teddy bear and one of those plush eye cover thingys ppl put on when they sleep (idk what they’re called lol).. it may sound silly but I think shed really like any of this things and get good use out of them.
