He and I were in a relationship for 12 1/2 years which as a result leading up to a breakup due to his off and on infidelity in which as a result he has a baby on the way now by another woman. I’m devastated and hurt as a result. He broke up with me even though I still love/hate him now too.

It’s hard but it’s possible. These words will serve as your way towards healing. “Time will heal everything”, “Be thankful you have survived and get over with your ex” these words are not helping you at all. If someone would say these to you, you probably know the earnest intention to make you feel better, but this is considered to be the worst lines a person mourning for a lost love would ever hear. In love, time does not give you the assurance of healing and survival does not numb the pain and sting.

What is the best way to get over a breakup?

Got dumped a few days ago. Not by anything I did, everything went swimmingly until she dropped the bomb out of left field. Anyways what is the best way to get over a breakup? I’m not heartbroken or anything, just pretty bummed lately and need some distraction.
